SCHOOL COMMITTEE NEGOTIATING POWERS AND DUTIES

The Agawam School Committee, as the duly constituted representative of the people and as the agent of the state, is legally responsible for the conduct of public education in the town. Its authority to make final decisions as provided by law may not be delegated or abdicated.

The School Committee will retain sole and complete authority to supervise and control the Agawam Public Schools and all personnel employed by the school department subject to the agreements that have been established with collective bargaining units.
