Who Am I?

I am Mr. Bernier, and I teach Grade 7 Social Studies at Agawam Jr. High School.  I reside in Room 210.  On this site, you will find my curriculum, class rules and regulations, a class calendar, homework, and samples of student work.

My curriculum

The curriculum for Grade 7 Social Studies is Ancient History.  This follows the MA Curriculum Frameworks, and the history of the Western world from the Stone Age until the fall of Rome is studied.  Students will see how ancient civilizations developed, the accomplishments they made, and how they affect us in the present day.  They will become familiar with thinking "outside the box" and making historical connections.  Students will learn the material in a variety of ways, including direct instruction, cooperative learning, class discussions, and projects.  This course will prepare students for their Grade 7 Social Studies MCAS test.  The following topics are studied:

6.  Ancient Greece

7.  Ancient Rome
