Agenda & Absences Use your agenda to log all homework assignments daily to help you remember what needs to be done. Your agenda needs to be signed by a parent EVERY NIGHT! Please call the office when you are going to be absent and send a note into school the next day. Behavior & Bullying Good behavior is expected at all times. Our school uses the A.I.M.S program. All students should always be responsible, safe, and respectful. If you ever have any conflicts with another student, it must be taken care of immediately. Contact the nearest adult available. Room 201 is a NO BULLY ZONE. Cell Phones & Contact Information Cell phones are not allowed in the classroom. All phones must be off and away unless you have special permission. Contact Ms Masotti at 789-1400 x448. You may also write notes in the agenda or e-mail me at any time. Deadlines, Desks, & Discipline Meeting deadlines is an extremely important habit to get into. Desks should be kept clean and organized at all times. Maintaining proper discipline is required at all times and will be enforced. Extra Money & Email Have extra money in a safe place for a telephone call or lunch. The instructions on how to email me are on the Staff Webpage. I will return the e-mail as soon as possible. Food Food is not allowed to be sent to school any longer because of the many food allergies that students have. There is to be no food in the classroom (this includes gum and candy). Goals Set high goals for yourself and you will achieve them. Hall, Homeroom, & Homework When walking in the hall we should remain in a single file line and remain quiet so we do not bother anyone. Homeroom starts at 8:20 and students should go to their lockers before entering the classroom. You will have morning work to do every morning while I collect your homework and check your agendas. Homework should be done on time. Students will have homework every night except Friday. Weekend homework will only be given if you are missing assignments. Internet Please use the internet for educational purposes only. Jobs Classroom jobs will be assigned by me each month. You are responsible for getting your job done without being reminded.
Kindness Random acts of kindness should be performed everyday. Lockers, Lunch, & Lunch Tickets Lockers should be kept clean and locked at all time. Do not give out your combination to anyone. You are not allowed to tape anything to the your locker or your desk. Hot lunch costs $1.75 and milk is $.50. Cold lunch can be brought in at any time and stored in your locker. Lunch tickets will be handed out on Monday for free and reduced lunch students. You may purchase lunch tickets for the whole week on Monday mornings in the cafeteria during homeroom only. You may also pay for lunch daily at lunch time using cash or a check. No twenty dollar bills or larger is allowed. Manners & Make-up Work Proper manners are expected at all times while at school. Make-up work should be done as soon as possible. Notes Send a note to school if you are leaving early or if you have been absent. You may leave me a note in the agenda at any time, they are checked daily. Organization Please stay as organized as possible. Keep papers, desks, and lockers very neat. Papers Papers should be brought home as soon as they are handed back. There shouldn't be any loose papers in desks. Papers will either be placed in your binder or will be sent home. Quizzes We usually have a review the day before a test or quiz so try not to be absent. Make-ups and retakes of tests and quizzes are up to my discretion. Reading Reading is very important! You are required to read at least 20 minutes every night for homework. The Reading Corner is a privilege and there is to be absolutely no talking. I require at least 15 Accelerated Reader points each term. Snibbler & Subjects Snibbler is one of our monthly jobs. This person will be in charge of picking up any debris on the floor or desks. No one leaves at the end of the day until our room is neat and clean, so please pick up after yourself. You will have five academic subjects: English, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Math. You will have Art and Music twice a week and Library and Computer classes once a week. All students will have Extra Math (MCAS Math) class twice a week. You will also have D.A.R.E. once a week for 1/2 year. Once a week you will also have SLT (Structured Learning Time) to catch up on any work. Telephone & Tests A pay telephone is available for $.50 near the cafeteria. Please make any necessary phone calls during lunch time. Tests will be announced as far in advance as possible. Use & Understanding Use your time wisely and always have an Accelerated Reader book you are reading. You will always find understanding in Room 201. I am always available to meet with you individually if needed. Values Good values will be modeled and practiced throughout the year.

The late bus can be taken home or students can be picked up in front of the building. Students are to check with me before they make arrangements to stay after.
